In the United States, he gained prominence while working at ‘Junoon’, a Michelin-starred Indian restaurant in New York City. He has received numerous accolades for his work, including being featured on the list of the ‘Sexiest Men Alive’ by The People Magazine and being honored with the ‘Rising Star Chef’ award by Star Chefs.
More popularly, he has gained media attention by being a judge on many reality shows like ‘MasterChef India’ and ‘Twist of Taste’. From 2011, Khanna hosted seven seasons of MasterChef India. Interestingly, Khanna was invited as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia in Season 6. Also, he has hosted four seasons of the show Twist of Taste on Fox Life channel. Khanna appeared as a judge and an Indian-cuisine specialist on the two-part season finale of Hell’s Kitchen.
Apart from his role as a chef, Khanna has also authored popular cookbooks, including ‘Modern Indian Cooking, ‘Flavors First, and the widely acclaimed ‘Utsav: A Culinary Epic of Indian Festivals’. Moreover, he directed and produced the documentary ‘Buried Seeds’, which chronicles his journey from Amritsar to becoming a celebrated chef.
